I totally agree with the diversity bullshit. This town is NOT diverse. Most people here have no idea what it truly means to live in a diverse community.

so, just how do you define diversity? and, is diversity for diversity's sake a good thing?

I would define diversity, (if we are talking about people claiming Eugene is "diverse") as having a varied amount of different races and cultures in one area.
I personally do not enjoy diversity. I've been where it's diverse and I'll pass.
It makes me chuckle when people claim Eugene is a culturally diverse town, they have no idea what they're saying.
Once I got on a Greyhound in I think it was Houston, Texas, and got a bunch of shit thrown at my head for my sheer whiteness. It was special. Most of my experiences with diversity have been similar to that.
Diversity means lowered standards to fill a quota.
What ever happened to merit?
No, you are not smart enough to get into this (school, job,whatever).
So with diversity quotas we get someone that otherwise isn't up to par.
I moved back to Eugene 4 years ago (not my first choice)and nothing has changed much accept for the mexican invasion.This place has allways rejected new big buisness,with logging and fishing gone I wonder how much longer we can support the bums? If these big tax measures pass I wonder how many people will just get fed up and leave?
The whore guy or girl sorta has a gripe though,I would hate to live in a nieghborhood with tricks walking by my children.

It certainly isn't family friendly. I'd be pissed if I lived there too. I didn't really understand the recent skewering of the guy.
